Zuzanna Bartoszek, “Coin Flip”, 2024, Gouache on paper, 21 x 30 cm, Unique, 1.800 €
Zuzanna Bartoszek is a painter and poet. Her poetic and painterly practices frequently intersect, blending intimate, biographically influenced moments with a dreamlike perspective. “Coin Flip,” like many of her paintings, evokes cinematic sketches. The flipping of a coin—the embodiment of chance—is counterbalanced here by the decisive silhouette of a woman, whose presence retains its strength despite the swift, sketchy brushstrokes.
Zuzanna Bartoszek (*1993, Poznań, Poland) lives and works in Berlin. Her work has been shown at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw; Kunsthalle Zürich; Gaylord Apartments, Los Angeles; and Cabin Gallery, New York, among others. Her publication “36 Rooms” is going to be published with Hela Press.
