Heike-Karin Föll, “invented freshly each time”, 2025, Oil and pastel on canvas, 18 x 24 cm, Unique, price upon request
Heike-Karin Föll’s work engages with the status and materiality of painting and drawing in a contemporary context shaped by the production and reception of digital images. In its scale, the annual edition “invented freshly each time” may evoke associations with portable tablets. In response to the accelerated and fragmented temporality of digital media, Föll employs painting to convey a visceral, gesture-by-gesture experience of time. In this work, she captures the essence of Cuno Amiet’s vast “Schneelandschaft” (1904) within a confined, compact space.
Heike-Karin Föll is an artist and professor at the Universität der Künste Berlin. In addition to international solo exhibitions at the KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Basel, her works have recently been shown at Museion, Bolzano; Oskar Weiss, Zurich; Emanuela Campoli, Paris/Milan; and Hot Wheels, Athens. Her works were further included in the exhibition “Untitled (A Love Song)” at the Kunstverein Nürnberg – Albrecht Dürer Gesellschaft.
