Warm invitation to the fifth iteration of “Flock”, a collaboration between the Academy of Fine Arts Nuremberg and the Kunstverein Nürnberg — Albrecht Dürer Gesellschaft. Sound artist, radio host, and curator Lukas Grundmann will present his work on June 30th at 7 PM and talk about his involvement in various independent and institutional contexts.
Lukas Grundmann (*1987, Korbach, Germany) works with sound and experimental electronic music. His productions span the fields of music, art, theater, and radio. He is the technical director and lecturer in the Master’s program Sound Studies and Sonic Arts at the Berlin University of the Arts. Since 2015, he has been organizing the community radio station and collective Cashmere Radio. He is currently developing pieces for accordion and synthesizer in collaboration with Camilla Barratt-Due. In the second half of 2025, he will be part of the curatorial team for Klangkunst, a weekly program on Deutschlandfunk Kultur.
As part of a new cooperation between the Academy of Fine Arts Nuremberg and the Kunstverein Nürnberg — Albrecht Dürer Gesellschaft, various artists, thinkers, and curators will be invited over the course of two days to both Nuremberg institutions. At the Kunstverein, the guests will present their work in the form of a reading, screening, performance, jam session, etc., followed by a discussion. The following day, students from the Academy will have the opportunity to engage in studio visits and exchange ideas with the invited guests about their own work. The format “Flock”, which can be translated as swarm or flock, focuses on forms of collaboration and artistic self-organization.
