Vanessa Reed’s workshop is part of Julia Heyward’s current exhibition “Miracles in Reverse”. Here, the exhibition is explored as a shared space for thinking and experience.
The session begins with a 30-minute introduction that offers insight into Heyward’s artistic practice. This is followed by collective observation: using selected works, we gather impressions, moments of disruption, and associations. In small groups, we then approach the exhibition from different perspectives. In this process, the question “What did the artist intend to say?” deliberately gives way to “What does this work evoke in me today?”
The workshop invites participants to reflect on their own positions and, through exchange with others, to establish connections to the present. It concludes with a collection of thoughts and open questions. We kindly ask you to arrive on time at 17:30, as the workshop begins with a guided group tour.
Vanessa Reed is an intern at Kunstverein Nürnberg – Albrecht Dürer Gesellschaft and a Master’s student in Art and Communication.
