In her artistic practice, Antonia Beeskow is interested in marginalized sounds and their social and historical implications. Based on her work with cassettes and loops from hallmark, her presentation at the Kunstverein Nürnberg in collaboration with Lilli Lake, the newly created piece Overdub: Éliane (2024) draws on principles of transmission, appropriation, and restructuring. Beeskow takes a quote by the composer Éliane Radigue—“The void is not nothing”—and reinterprets it into a score for a work in which ears, shells, hearing, and reverberations all correspond artistically.

Antonia Beeskow (b. 1992 in Düsseldorf, DE) is a composer, sound designer, and performer. Her works take the form of live concerts, performances, soundwalks, and radio plays. She been awarded numerous prizes, most recently the Karl-Sczuka-Förderpreis and the NRW Förderpreis.
