Eröffnung / Opening: 9. Dezember 2025, 19 Uhr / December 9, 2025, 7 pm
False Friends – Annual Editions 2025 presents works by ten artists connected to the Kunstverein Nürnberg – Albrecht Dürer Gesellschaft, either through recent exhibitions or ongoing friendships with the institution. In linguistics, “false friends”, also known as “interlingual homonyms”, are pairs of words from different languages that look or sound alike but have different meanings. Inspired by Leonie Nagel’s work of the same name, the exhibition explores various forms of communication, the human need for closeness and exchange, and the (sometimes productive) misunderstandings that can emerge along the way.
The presentation includes annual editions by Michael Van den Abeele, Zuzanna Bartoszek, Sofia Defino Leiby, Isabelle Enders, Heike-Karin Föll, Helmut Kirsch, Mira Mann, Leonie Nagel, Christian Naujoks and Andrew Wagner.
Please note that purchasing or reserving an annual edition from Kunstverein Nürnberg – Albrecht Dürer Gesellschaft requires a membership. For inquiries or further information, please contact us at mail@kunstvereinnuernberg.de or by phone at +49 (0) 911 241 563. We would be delighted to hear from you.
Coinciding with the opening on December 9, the Kunstverein Nürnberg – Albrecht Dürer Gesellschaft will present a new edition of Bar – a format conceived by Isabelle Enders that occurs at irregular intervals and adapts to its specific context, whether it’s the program, the architecture, or the temperature.
