Bogdan Ablozhnyy’s practice is critically engaged with the rhetoric of the image, often finding its form in spatial arrangements that operate across layered regimes of signification and perception. In his framework, the image does not function as stable representation but as a fractured field structured by lack, where subjectivity emerges through negotiation with what cannot be fully seen, obtained, or resolved. A negation to let the object stand in directly for what it has replaced as there is always something left over that meaning cannot exhaust. Ablozhnyy has also called this an interest in what cannot be possessed.

Kunstverein Nürnberg – Albrecht Dürer Gesellschaft is dedicating its first institutional solo exhibition in Germany to Bogdan Ablozhnyy, featuring new works. Ablozhnyy is the recipient of the 2025 Camden Art Centre Emerging Artist Award at Frieze London and his work is the subject of forthcoming exhibitions at the American Academy of Arts and Letters in New York and Camden Art Centre in London. He lives and works in Los Angeles.
